"My battle with College"
When September rolled byAll I wanted to do was cry
I knew I had to write my college essay
But every time I tried my thoughts would stray
I once sat down for five hours
But for some reason I couldn't find the will power
I kept distracting myself with food
So my sentences were quite shrewd
I received a lot of pressure from my dad
He said I have to do good or he would get mad
I was waiting for the right idea to spark
But this task was no walk in the park
But in the end everything worked out
I was so happy I started to scream and shout
My college essay was finally complete
I felt my chances of getting accepted were concrete!

I really enjoyed reading this poem because this is something I can definetely relate to. I found the part about your "dad becoming mad" quite comical because my father would do the same.
ReplyDeleteI am happy you were able to finish your essay Sagar. Even better that you are confident that you did good. Hope you made your dad proud.
ReplyDeleteI really liked this poem. I could relate to it and I enjoyed the way it was written. It was funny, witty, and truthful. I felt the same way when writing my essay
ReplyDeleteWriting my college essay was tough, too. I'm glad you feel you did well on it, though.
